Dr. Deepak Samuel V completed his graduation on Zoology and post graduation on Marine Biology and Oceanography and obtained his doctorate degree on the same subject in the year 2004. To the skillset he possess, he joined as Assistant Professor at Eritrean Institute of Technology, Africa and later at Madras Christian College, Chennai. Post which he joined as Programme Specialist, United Nations Development Programme, Gulf of Mannar Project, UNDP-GEF, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. With keen involvement in research, he structured his way to take up the position as Scientist D, Marine Ecologist, Conservation of Coastal and Marine Resources Division, National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management, MoEFCC, Govt. of India, Anna University Campus, Chennai, till April 2019. From May 2019 he leveled up as Scientist E & Project Lead in Charge in the same organization till date.

His significant honours are many, of which he grabbed Young Scientist Award, Green crusader Award and twice for the best research paper and poster awards by prestigious institutions within the sector. To his credentials, he has given 81 invited talks, 45 seminars and conferences and he was the guest editor of the Journal ‘Wetland Ecology and Management’. He has authored 21 books/ Manuals/ Chapters and more than 51 papers with many in proceedings.
