My fascination for animals since childhood and curiosity to understand the natural processes hasmade me to take up wildlife research as my profession. My obvious choice after high school was to study B.Sc. Zoology for which I went to Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli. During the period there my interest for animal research was nurtured by my seniors and faculty members. It is also during this period that I got opportunity to visit many National parks and Wildlife sanctuaries in Tamil Nadu. After my Bachelors degree I went to Madras Christian College, Tambaram for my Master’s degree in Zoology. I also hold a MPhil degree in Ecological Informatics from Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management Kerala (IITMK), Trivandrum which introduced me to information technology and GIS techniques for ecology research. I am interested in studying ecology of lesser known reptilesand mammals. At AIWC I am a Junior Research Fellow in the department of Conservation education. Prior to this I was a project assistant at Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun from 2017 to 2018 and a lecturer of Zoology at Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli from 2015 to 2016.
